[[Assimilation speed concept]] is that there is a speed limit to how fast matter can be replaced in the body and still produce the same [[awarepath]] and [[ixperiencitness]]. The problem is that if the same [[structure and functioning of matter]] produces a different [[consciousness]] and [[ixpereinctness]] simply because the matter was replaced at too fast speed then there can not be a [[science of conscious existence]]. These questions and many more would need to be scientifically answered: What does the [[consciousness]] and [[ixperiencitness]] change into when the [[assimilation speed limit]] is broken? Why does it change into this consciousness and no other when this speed limit is broken. If the speed limit is broken over and over again is there always a new and different [[consciousness]] produced each time? The reason that there can not be a science of conscious existence if there is an [[assimilation speed limit]] is that it appears that the same [[structure and functioning of matter]] can then produce any [[consciousness]] and [[ixperiencitness]] even though the body will have the same behavior and report that it has the same experiences. He (it) will even think that he is a continuation of the same [[consciousness]] and [[ixperiencitness]] as before breaking the [[assimilation speed limit]].

The reason that some philosophers have created this concept is that if there is no speed limit for matter replacement in a conscious body then matter could be instantaneously replaced and what you have is a [[cidentireplica]] of the [[original]] with the ability to produce the same [[consciousness]] and [[ixperiencitness]] as the [[original]] has. This is totally unacceptable to them and others because they think that there can only be one of you at a time. But like the soul [[Assimilation speed concept]] is a [[supernatural concept]] with no scientific proof. The philosopher Peter Unger applies this concept in his book "Identity consciousness and Value". But he does not call it by that name.
