Salvation is being saved or protected from harm. In religion, it is stated as the saving of the soul from sin and its consequences. It may also be called "deliverance" or "redemption" from sin and its effects. Depending on the religious tradition, salvation is considered to be caused either by the free will and grace of a deity (in theistic religions) or by personal responsibility, kindness and self-effort (e.g. in the sramanic and yogic traditions of India). Religions often emphasize the necessity of both personal effort— for example, repentance and asceticism —and divine action (e.g. grace).
Within soteriology, salvation has two related meanings. On the one hand it refers to the phenomenon of being saved by divine agency —such as is the case in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. On the other it refers to the phenomenon of the soul being saved (as in 'safe') from some unfortunate destiny. In the former, divine agency gives rise to the situation of the latter. However, devotion, petition, supplication and liturgical participation though considered integral to Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christianity are not considered enough alone to bring about salvation. Asceticism and repentance are advocated as essential from both a practical and sacramental point of view. Protestant Christianity (particularly evangelical Christianity) with its emphasis on sola fide asserts that salvation comes by way of grace through Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9) and is effected by faith alone.
The academic study of salvation is called soteriology. It concerns itself with the comparative study of how different religious traditions conceive salvation and how they believe it is obtained. In Indian religions, for example, the concept of salvation (which is called moksha) involves being free from an endless process of transmigration of the soul, a belief that is absent from Abrahamic soteriology. In Jainism and Buddhism divine agency does not have any role in salvation[4] since both religions regard the matter from a purely causal point of view.
In both Eastern and Western religions salvation is also the phenomenon of being saved from death but here is not meant biological death but the suffering and degradation within life resulting from the consequences of sin. In Christianity one who has attained salvation is said to experience and inherit eternal life in God or what in Buddhism is called nirvana (whose synonym amaravati means "deathlessness").
Awaretheory has it own form of salvation that is very different from any other religion. Awaretheory is not based on supernatural concepts like souls, gods, reincarnation or free will. Awaretheory is a science or at least the beginnings of several or even many sciences dealing with conscious existence. Awaretheory as stated in many places in this web site is that consciousness and ixperiencitness are produced by the structure and functioning of matter. This leads to many very useful applications for mankind and his future. Life after death, immortality, itofazmultiplicity, conscious enhancement, multiplicity of self, are all consequences of awaretheory. The above quote refers to two major kinds of salvation. The first is salvation from the permanent death or conscious none existence. The second kind is salvation from suffering (like hell). Since there are no souls immortality is not achieved by using the soul. But here can be, besides random physical events, external conscious beings that can control the consciousness that you experience. We know that we can suffer because of the bad things that we do but awaretheory shows us many more ways that we can suffer because of the bad choices that we make. Because of this it creates an understanding of how to avoid as much suffering as possible. It also gives us a positive view of reality. Not only does awaretheory show us how to avoid suffering, it shows us how to make many different better lives for everyone. Awaretheory makes the world a better place than heaven. If you do not understand these ideas it sounds unbelievable. Salvation in religion requires sacrifice and commitment. It is also required for the ideas of awaretheory as well. The commitment that awaretheory requires is that a person lives the best life that he or she can without making other people's life worse. This including not making future generations of conscious beings worse as well. What is even better is making other lives better when possible as well. There are two other important commitments that we must make for our "salvation". The first is the pursuit and spread of knowledge which includes the increase and spread of the awaretheory ideas. This means the increasing support of the progress of science and technology. The second is the increase in our ability to use this knowledge that we gain wisely for many purposes including the perpetuation of conscious beings on earth and even into and through the rest of universe. Without causing harm to other conscious beings of course.
The amazing thing is that awaretheory predicts not a reduction of different conscious experiences but a vast increase because of all the different ways that that consciousnesses can be produced. One of the things that we will study are all of the possible different consciousnesses that can be produced. We can then make decisions of which ones to produce directly connected to reality and the ones that we want some protection from (or they having protection from us or our reality) by making them in itofazpaducers not directly connected to reality. Many amazing life times we can make within itofazpaducers that reality alone can not make (like magic or science fiction realities) . If you though that you are just a singular consciousness you are in for a big surprise because awaretheory predicts that many different consciousnesses (awarepaths) produced in many different ways can have the same ixperiencitness and they can exist at the same time or through out space and time. Any consciousness that has your ixperiencitness will be a consciousness that you experience. Since awaretheory predicts that there can be many enhanced consciousness that understand the awaretheory ideas and can know which other physapaths produce their ixperiencitness they can be in a relationship to you that is closer to you than a god imagined by religion is to you. In fact, enhanced conscious versions of you may be helping you now and you would not necessarily know it. If not know, enhanced conscious versions of you could produce exactly what you are experiencing now any time in the future any place in the universe or multiverse that neuropaths physipaths or itofazpaducers can exist. You might ask why?, and I might just say why not? Maybe your current life is much better than our ancestors experiences were.
Realities with loved ones that died to early in life, realities with new loved ones that could have been but never happened, realities of adventure, understanding or amazing skills, extensions, modifications, and enhancements of any desired life time, are all possible. This is much more that any religion ever promised or proposed.
Awaretheory deals with a much larger set of ideas about salvation and soteriology than these just presented. Awaretheory when dealing with salvation and soteriology is concerned with every physapath and neuropath that produces an awarepath that is in any way connected with the concept of salvation and soteriology. This set of consciousnesses is much larger than the ones that are presented above. This is because there are many more aspects of salvation and thus consciousnesses that is some way relate to salvation than all the religions that concern salvation that people have imagined so far. We can imagine any possible set of salvation rules then any number of salvation related gods and any number of salvation related afterlives that you can possible imagine experiencing. We can then interrelate them in different ways. we can even modify the definition of salvation in various ways to create and even large set of salvation related awarepaths. Many of these salvation related awarepaths, awaretheory predicts, can be created in an itofazpaducers by way of itocomponents. There is also a set of awarepaths that can be imagined that do not directly experience these salvation related ideas but just have knowledge about them or are involved in producing them.
