Religious knowledge is the rules and behavior that a religion gives their god. Gods are made in man's image. If there was really one god that controlled things with any reasonable degree of intelligence and he wanted us to have a certain religion there would be only one religion. But since there are many very different religions with many different gods with many different characteristics. Either the god or gods do not care what we believe or they have very limited power and knowledge with very limite effect on humans and the world overall.

Religious knowledge is not scientific knowledge. It does not have to be coherent, understandable, useful, caring, etc. It can be any thing that the religion wants itself to be. A religion is more than what people want. It is part of culture that is passed on from generation to generation with all the oddities that our ancestors have added with their varied personalities. There are underlying aspects of religions. They do believe that they serve some important functions.
