The Identity theory of the mind can be interpreted as only a specific brain functioning is a specific way will produce a specific consciousness and ixperiencitness. This is how many people interpret this theory because they believe once you are dead this is the end of a person's conscious existence thus with the belief that one conscious existence is tied to a specific brain.
