How can you self resurrect if you are dead? The assumption is that some thing that is beyond yourself has to bring you back to life like a god or nature itself. It would be possible that some super advanced computer like machine could resurrect your body after your death that you had some interest or hand in creating. This would be a form of indirect self resurrection. But this is not what awaretheory means with the phrase "self resurrection". A simple definition of resurrection is the revitalization or revival of something or the bringing back to conscious life of some thing that has died. The word "self" is sometimes defined as a person's essential being that distinguishes them from others. Awaretheory defines you as all the actual and potential consciousnesses that you will or can experience when they are produced by the proper structures and functionings of matter.

It is not an oxymoron to define self resurrection as conscious versions of you bringing other versions of you to life, or back to life (conscious existence). The assumption of self resurrection is that a specific version of you did exist and is now dead. The second assumption is that the consciousness that is resurrected has to be close to the consciousness that it had before it died. The third assumption is that there is at least one conscious version of you that is involved in the self resurrection of this version of you.

Awaretheory is the only scientific theory of life after death and immortality that allows for or predicts multiplicity of self at this time. The multiplicity of self might seem like a oxymoron itself until the self is defined by awaretheory as all of the consciousnesses that can ever exist, even if they exist at the same time, that you, or the "self" expereinces. Self resurrection is not illogical, irrational, scientifically impossible, or require any supernatural entities or concepts. Self resurrection is a way that immortality is possible and more likely than if it was not possible. What is not required is that the conscious beings that are involved in the self resurrection are aware of the self resurrection events.

Some examples that follow the above three assumptions are:

To satisfy the first assumption some one has to die some time in the past. Before that person died there was a period of time when they were conscious and that consciousness satisfied the second condition. That consciousness was produced by a specific set of structures and functionings of matter. When one of those structures and functionings of matter is reproduced in another itobody or itocomponent that desired or defined consciousness will be produced with the same ixperiencitness as it had the first time. This can be called resurrection. But for it to be self resurrection one more condition has to be fulfilled and that is one or more of the conscious beings that were involved in the recreation of the resurrected consciousness must have the same ixperiencitness as the resurrected consciousness. The conscious beings that are involved in the resurrection may or may not be aware that one or more of them have the same ixperiencitness as the resurrected conscious individual.

Awaretheory predicts that there can be enhanced consciousnesses with the same ixperiencitness as lower level consciousnesses.
