Pseudo assimilation of matter concept is assumed to be true by some philosophers such as Peter Unger[1] in his book "Identity, Consciousness & Value". The purpose of pseudo assimilation is the perpetuation of the concept of personal singularity. Why is it pseudo and not real assimilation because it sets up rules that are not based on science, such as assimilation speeds. Chemical reactions speeds are real and based on temperature and pressure and other factors. Any assimilation speeds based on some other factors have not been shown to exist scientifically. So they are pseudo assimilation not real physical assimilation. We can consider the TV analogy applied to pseudo assimilation of matter. No matter how fast the parts of a TV are replaced, even the parts being down to the size of individual atoms or smaller, if the resulting TV has the same structure and then functions like it would have other wise without the replacement of matter, it will produce the same showpaths (sounds and pictures over time). If the TV is instantly replaced with another TV, there will be the same resulting showpaths produced with the same receptionpaths.

For the assimilation of matter process to actually be a controlling factor in the consciousness and, or ixperiencitness produced by a body there would need to be something that the old matter does to the incoming matter that is unique to this old matter and no other matter. This ability does not seem to be an actual property of matter. It would appear to be almost a supernatural kind of property with a memory of a previously encountered structure and functioning of matter. It is true that the way the body deals with incoming matter is in maintaining a close approximation to how it presently is in certain aspects and a more flexible approximation for other aspects of the structure and functioning. But although an atom may have many different possible states, there are not so many that another atom of the same elemental kind can not be found that can replace it functionally. So an assemble of one or more atoms to much larger and more complex parts of a consciousness producing body should be replaceable at any speed that maintains or eventually produces the same structure and functioning of matter over time, will produce the same consciousness and ixperiencitness.
