A frequently used definition of replica is an exact copy or model of something, especially one on a smaller scale. If a replica is smaller it is not exactly like the original. A replica could also be made of different material. For instance, made of different physical compounds like iron, steal, copper, plastic, etc. Often a replica is a replica only skin deep, as in identical or closely identical shape and color. When it come to a replica of a human it could be just a person that looks very much like the original but very different on the inside. When discussing replicas it is important to define what kind or replica it is. The phase its just a replica can have important meaning depending what kind of replica it is. For example, if it is a replica of a picture that is indistinguishable from that of the original picture it can replace the original and no one would know or can know the difference.

Superimmortality is concerned with a number of different kinds of replicas. Some of the kinds of questions that superimmortality asks about replicas is what kind of replica of a human will produce the same behavior as the original human does. What changes to a replica can be made to produce the behavior of some one else? What changes, to the replica, can be made that will produce the same behavior in the replica as is produced in the original?

Superimmortality predicts that cidentireplicas or continuing identical replicas that produce identical physapaths to an that of the original will also produce identical behavior, consciousness, and ixperiencitness to that of the original. It also predicts that many different videntireplicas with different behaviorpaths and awarepaths will have the same ixperiencitness as the original has.
