At minute 1:28 Dawkins says "X is comforting does not mean that x is true." Superimmortality can be very comforting but this does not mean it is false just because it can be comforting.

Superimmortality does not say that your individuality survives your death. Your individuality is produced by the structure and functioning of matter that your body is made of, not by the specific matter that your body is made of. The structure and functioning of matter that produced your individuality over time is reproducible any time before or after death.
We are going to die and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going die because they are never going to be born. the potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grain of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats. Scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively out number the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness that are here. We privileged few who won the lottery of birth against all odds how dare we whine at the inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred.
This is another reason that superimmortality gives meaning and purpose to each life the production of an awarepaths that has never been produced before has meaning. Producing awarepaths that have different ixperiencitnesses that has never existed before has even more meaning of a different kind.
