Reality and Consciousness

Consciousness tries to mirror reality. It then tries to predict reality so that it can change it for its advantage. We might say a consciousness is a mirror of reality.

Why do people have the view of themselves as a unity of consciousness? A person consciousness is a part of the reality that they are trying to mirror understand and predict. We have only one voice box so it seems a waste to produce more than one voice even though some people seem to think that they hear several voices coming from within. It is hard for us to concentrate on more than one thought at a time this might be because we can not color code the thoughts as they go through the brain and keep them separate. The separate thoughts have no way to keep from being intertangled as we think of them. It seems possible that a brain could be built that can keep the thoughts from interfering with each other. Many of our senses are processed before they confuse our thinking, such as moving our arms or walking. These complex processes are not run through the main line of thinking. They are processed by part of our nervous system. Then information is conveyed to the conscious part of the brain. Why is the consciousness parts of the brain conscious and the other parts not? To be aware of what is going on we must have the processing go through the processing part of the brain or the parts of the brain that mirror consciousness or mirror the self. If a part of the brain or process going on in the brain is mirroring a concept A certain type of structure is consciousness and others are not. Why? Why can there be identical mental functioning in another body and there is no inter connection or awareness of this identity? There has to be a connection on the neuron level for there to be consciousness of consciousness. This might not be true if there are other way of changing the consciousness of a person or the neural workings of a person. There are different ways of changing the neural workings of the brain other than what the brain does to itself. It is called the senput and the externaput or paths. There is also the internapath. This is what the brain does to itself. The brain changes itself over time. The internaput has to be dealt with in the brain it has to have some meaning so that the brain can deal with it without getting it confused with reality. The internaput are concepts that the brain has to deal with it has to organize the thoughts into concepts that can be efficiently dealt with. One way is by way of consciousness. What does the brain call concepts that derive from the brain itself and not from the senpath or externapath? We have a mirror of the external reality but what is the mirror of the internal reality and what is the mirror of the mirror of the internal reality. These mirrors of mirrors are called consciousness. Recursiveness of the internapath is consciousness. We are producing ever higher levels of reality from the senses that we have and the structure of the brain that produces the mirror of reality. So do animals have consciousness? The answer would be yes but at a different level depending on how the animal deals with its internapath and how recursive it becomes. What does all this tell us about consciousness and how does it relate to the identity theory? First there are different types of consciousness. depending on the internapath and how well the internapath relates to itself. Or how recursive the internapath becomes There are types of recursive internapaths. There are thick internapaths that have few recursions then there are thin internapaths that are very recursive. then we can divide the internapath and find parts that are recursive and others that are not. I use the term thick or thin to represent the amount of processing that the internapath is doing. If the processing that it is doing it is doing on the doing then it is being highly recursive but if the processing that is going on is not about the processing that is going on then it is not being very recursive. Sometimes we are not very conscious of ourselves we are to involved with what we are doing. during these times we are not very consciousness of our selves. but we may be very conscious of the thing that we are doing. WE can get so involved in what we are doing that many function of the brain are being diverted so that our consciousness is changed to a different plane. What is happening in the brain when this is happening? Certain pathways are being used and not others. the other paths ways are different pathways of consciousness they can be the pathways of self. It would seem that if these paths are not used and other are it becomes easier to use them than others. as we do this we are producing a different mentapath than we could have produced. What's more we are producing a potential that allows prefers some paths over others. The genes ore one potential path producer. What is potential in relation to the mentapath? If we have a higher potential for one path over another it will take more effort to produce the path with the least potential. If the brain does not regularly deal with physics and the solution of physics problems it will take more effort for that brain to produce the mentapaths that deal with physics that one that has a high potential for it. This applies to every ability. The more we use it the more it becomes established in our potential. The less we use it the less it has potential.

The concept of mirroring of concepts recursively. This means that there is a process that mirrors a concept which a part of reality or some other knowledge structure.

There is the structure of the brain. Then there is the structures that the brain is trying to represent. Then there is the recursiveness of discussing the way the brain works. How can a brain be recursive? It can be recursive by having memories of memories of memories etc. How does the brain mirror a concept? One way is by naming a concept, a path is produced to produce that concept not all the brain is used. The path leads into the concept and then it leads out of the concept. The concept can stop abruptly or it can linger in the unconscious after the thought has past. A person can be a concept any thing can be but this does not mean that the brain can deal with all concepts. A person can have a name that is recognized by the brain. That name can start a simipath within the brain that elaborates what that name means to that person or the brain. It can bring up a picture of that person and memories of that person. It can generate emotions, smells, and a number of other concepts about that person. If a certain simiphysipath produces an emotion then any reinstigation of that simiphysipath will produce that emotion. The simiphysipath can have changes in it over time so that the simimentapath that is produced is different. One name can branch into a number of other simiphysipaths. So a person hearing the name of an old friend can start the process of a path that produces a branching into a number of simiphysipaths that produce a number of simimentapaths and simiawarepaths. For purposes of efficiently there is sharing this means a structure that produces one simiphysipaths can by using less or more or in a number of other ways can produce other simiphysipaths and consequently other simimentapaths.

The brain can make a representation of something in it. It can be a concept which includes pictures etc. The brain produces a representation of a picture. It may not be close to reality or have anything to do with reality but the picture is produced by the senpath. If the senpath changes then the representation changes in the brain (maybe it does not always have to change) Does the brain have the ability to represent all the possible pictures that might be possible? There is the aspect of potential and the aspect of increasing the computing capacity of the brain so that it can represent more pictures. What happens when the brain encounters a change that it can not represent? It might represent the closest thing that it can to it. To represent it is to represent all the subtleties of it. The brain might not be able to represent all the subtleties of a concept. If the brain call tell the difference it may produce a flag for the rest of the brain saying that there is some problem or lack of complete information. This flag might be in any form. It is a communication to the other parts of the brain that there is a problem. Of course, the brain may not think that there is a problem, even if it does receive the message or flag that there is. If the brain can make this representation of the concept with the senpath it may be able to make it without the senput. The brain must distinguish between the real senput and the internasenput that is created by the brain itself. When the brain is doing this process of creating a representation of a concept either by the senpath or internapath it will produce that mentapath or awarepath. When the brain makes a representation of a concept it might be an incomplete picture for instance not all the colors or the borders are not clear we can not see all the photons that hit the eye. But still a representation is produced by the brain. It can then name that concept and manipulate it. It may not even name it may just have a partial pattern that goes through the brain that correspond to it. It may not be a name but a feeling for an concept. This is concept manipulation in the brain. If the brain produces a representation of a concept and nothing else, is this consciousness or is it the building block of consciousness? Is this representation of this concept a consciousness. When we have this concept in our mind of ourself and nothing else is this consciousness? We have to talk about a path and this path is a constant path actually it is cyclic because it repeats the same portion of path over and over again. This is because the representation of reality that is being produced is represented by changes in the brain these changes have to come back to the beginning to make the same path over and over again. The is a beginning a middle and an end to this concept. To be cyclic the end has to be same as the beginning. If not then it can spiral into another concepts each spiral does not exactly produce the same conscious as the previous one. The spiral is of course a path. We might say that when we look at something for a long time and the consciousness does not change much it is a spiral. Throbbing pain is cyclic unless each cycle it changes. The complexity of the interrelationships that can be produced in the brain are tied to the reality that the brain corresponds. The more complex the relationships that he brain can produce the more closely the brain can represent reality. The brain has to deal with the reality of itself. How can it do it? It might be called the reality of the representation. The brain produces a representation of the reality that come from the senput. It then has to deal with the reality that the representation that the representation is. So the brain can produce a concept of the picture being produced by the brain . within this concept can be the thought that there is something that produces that representation. So its new concept can be self referential or recursive. It then has the reality of the reality of representation. This process can go on forever. Can we have a pure thought with out being aware of being consciousness. I think that we do have such experiences where there is a picture in our minds and we are not aware of anything else. This might happen when we are in a trance or staring into space. It seems that is these situations that we can be unaware of ourselves and are in a state of nonrecursion or non awareness of ourselves until latter. This is from personal experience others that are different will experience other things of course and other concepts. What is the purpose of this discussion? It is an explanation of consciousness. Consciousness is complex. Many things in the brain produce it. There are different types of consciousness. Consciousness is recursive. Consciousness uses concepts and manipulates them. That is why it can be recursive. Changes in the brain can represent reality. These representations will not be exactly like reality. The purpose of the representation of reality by the brain is so that a being can make successful predictions that can make him more successful at surviving and reproducing. Reality may not be like this but we have reason to believe that it is. Of course we can not be certain of anything.
