Ch21. Self convinced of being the original experiments, arguments, and principles

   1. What does it mean to think that you are the original.
   2. If the original believes he is the original all cidentireplicas will believe the same thing.
   3. If the original believes that he is the original many near identical videntireplicas will believe they are the original also.
   4. The original can be convinced he is not the actual original
   5. The original may not actually be the original
   6. Experiments

The cidentireplica will be just as convinced as the original that he is the one and only original.

The designated original body may not be the first body in time that produced an identical or closely near identical physapath to itself thus producing an identical awarepath.

Experiment 1 There exists and is selected randomly an original person. It can even be you. The original is asked a number of different questions about his consciousness including if he thinks that he is the original, or first person to have a particular physapath and awarepath. He may not know the meaning of the words but the understanding can be ascertained with other questions. He will have answers to questions about his past life, friends, family, job, skills etc., and who he really thinks that he is? There are a number of different ways a cidentireplica of this original is made. He will by definition of being a cidentireplica of this particular original will have the exact same structure and functioning for at least the period of questioning. Because the structure and functioning is the same as is the originals his behavior will be the same also. Consequently, his answers will be exactly the same as the original's answers. It might be said that there is a little disingenuousness involved in making the cidentireplica behave identically to the original when this gives the exact results we want. Identical behave is just the result of having identical structure and functioning of the body. To solve this problem we can make an identireplica of a specific point in the original's life. The point is where we start questioning the original about his subjective feelings. We can for this experiment observe the resulting structure and functioning that this body produces. Two major effecting sources can cause a change in the resulting structure and functioning. They are the environment and the random effects of quantum mechanics. We can try to control the environment so that the cidentireplica of this original has the same exact environment as does or did the original. What we can not control are the random effects we also can not know, according to qm, what the exact positions of all of the subatomic particles. We can only have an approximation of the structure and functioning that is occurring. If we repeat this experiment over and over again eventually we will get cases where there will be divergence of behavior. The longer the test lasts for the more likely a divergence of behavior will occurWe migh not be able to detect a divergence of behavior as soone as it occurs but by the time divergence of behavior occurs there will be a detectable divergence of the structure and functioning with in the body.

The behavior of the cidentireplica believing that he is the original is evidence that the cidentireplica has the same ixperiencitness as does the original. The behavior of the many different diverging near cidentireplica gives us further evidence that these cidentireplica believe they are the original. If the cidentireplicas were to say that they believed that they were not the original that they had a feeling or some subjective evidence that they were not a continuation of original's body this would be a case of falsifiability for this prediction But It would not be conclusive evidence because there could be many physical reasons for cases where this prediction did not hold up. A prediction that is predictive most of the time is still a useful prediction.

Possibilities about the cidentireplica The cidentireplica could have been instantly to quickly created.

The cidentireplica could have been created in a different place and had different experiences over his life time but calculated external influences made his physapath converge to being identical to as closely like the originals physapath as desired. In this case there could be many different possible physapaths that converge on the original physapath.

Another possibility is that many random physapaths are created until a closely enough copy of the original happens to exit.

If the original thinks that he is

It what the original and cidentireplica think subjectively about what they are experiencing do they feel tied to this subjective narrative about who they are.

The cidentireplica can be allowed to function differently than the original, Where many new questions can be asked of him especially who subjectively he think he is

If there is a difference you and the other you do you think that you can tell the difference. Do you think the other you could tell the subjective conscious difference?

The experiments could be carried out over and over again in the same original body using the same matter in the same place and then asking different question in difference sequences

As you change the parameters in the same body in repetitions such as amount of new matter, placement of matter, orientation of matter experiences between repetition experiment etc. does the subjectively produced by the original stay the same

The cidentireplica can get more and more of the original's matter in each repetition the same. In there is a change in the subjectively produced in each of the gradual changing steps

If one predicts a change in subjectivity of the original during these experiments can this belief or statement be falsified?

It may be possible in certain cases where a third consciousness can actually compare the two consciousness subjectively The third consciousness is a version of the first two that it is studying but is aware of the actual subjective consciousness being produce it migh even be able to manipulate the functioning of the two

insidentireplica

Can a conscious be created where it is a combination of two complete inner consciousnesses and then relate this information to an outside source

Tv analogy we can imagine a tv show where there are vedeo of two screens showing two different movies. The movies can be made to be come more and more alike until they are identical. The structure and functioning can be observed and manipulated

the behavior shown is like the consciousness but there can be even better ways of seeing the consciousness produced buy interperting the structure and functioning Analogy a TV does not broadcast the electronic signal it receives from the tv station or DVR dvd et. It has to convert the signal into a reality that can then be compared How did it get this knowledge to be able to translate this over and over again experimentation over and over experimentation and mapping of what a conscious being reports or shows into a moving picture etc. of the what the structure and functioning is actually experiencing

Prediction of a the subjectively related behavior, analysis of actual behavior re-prediction of the same structure and functioning, re- analysis of actual behavior etc etc., prediction of consciousness produced by close identical structure and functioning analysis of actual behavior etc., etc., until the predictions are accurate. Then actual representation of the internal consciousness can be understood by outside sources and compared.

There can be many different ways of representing and then comparing the subjectivity of different consciousnesses produced by the same or different consciousnesses

Principle A cidentireplica will believe that he is the original exactly like and in the same way as the original does. A near identical videntireplica will believe that he is the original exactly like and in the same way as the original does.
