MATHEMATICAL EPISTEMOLOGY SUMMARY
Goals to summarize what scientific epistemology
Epistemology is a term that was coined in the 19th century. It is a concatenation of the greek word episteme, meaning knowledge, and the latin word ology, meaning the study of. Together the two words means the study of knowledge. In current usage it has come to mean the theory of knowledge in the field of philosophy.
In this treatise there are three types of epistemology. The first type is philosophical epistemology. It is the area of study and definition of epistemology that is most widely known. It is also know as the theory of knowledge. It's goal is to develop theories on how we come to know rather than just how we come to believe. Many philosophers have developed theories of knowledge including Plato, Descartes, Hume, Kant, . The most successful theory of knowledge has been the scientific method. It is not a theory developed by any one man but in a process developed by many thinkers over a very long period of time. The scientific method brings together the epistemological theories of Rationalism, Empiricism, Skepticism, Pragmatism, Mathematics, and some from other epistemological theories. Science uses language and mathematics to develop a theory (Rationalism). Checks it against experience (empiricism). See if it works or is useful (pragmatism). And then calls it a theory rather than absolute fact (Skepticism).
SCIENTIFIC EPISTEMOLOGY
I believe that knowledge can be studied scientifically. How can we study knowledge scientifically when we do not know what knowledge is? If we knew what knowledge was we would not need to study it.? The term knowledge must delineate some things in order to know where to start. A clear theory of knowledge is necessary in order to know what knowledge is. Since there has not been a theory of knowledge that has been totally successful, we can not base a science of knowledge on any one theory of knowledge. But like science itself if must be based on parts of many theories. The most important is skepticism. We can not be certain of any thing and never will be certain of any thing until we know every thing. It is possible that every thing that we believe to be true is not. This world of illusion may be produced by another world where nothing that we know is true. What we must base a science that studies knowledge on is uniqueness and sameness. There exists for study a world of ideas and theories, many of which have never even been imagined. The science of epistemology then studies these ideas and theories and tries to find their sameness and uniqueness. Finding the sameness allows us to simplify our understanding. Finding the uniqueness allows us to expand our understanding.

The point of mathematical epistemology is that there are many possibilities and many way of doing things. Mathematical epistemology develops many ways of dealing with the world and mans problems that he has with it. Our problems look different from different perspectives. In fact, one person's problem can be an others solution. How do we solve every problem when their aims are at cross purposed?
If we establish a goal then we have to figure out the possible ways that goal can be achieved. We make many assumptions but we need to realize that all these assumptions are assumptions. The ability to rapidly change processes as needed is the key to solving problems of complexity.
One way to solve problems that are at cross purposes is have different realities. Is the ultimate purpose the awarepath or is it the real path? If it turns out that the purpose of life is to produce certain or all awarepaths then if we can produce them independent of reality we will have a much easier job to do.
Mankind does not know where it is going or why. many people have there religions that give them some feeling of security and probably will not give up their beliefs no matter what the proof other wise is. Mankind is all the mentapaths that could be attributed to humans but I believe that our destination lies beyond only human mentapaths to mentapaths that can understand and perceive at much higher levels. We have not only the ability to change our environment by ourselves also. We need not be sheep and slaves of some one elses goals but can be apart of greater consciousness ourselves. If we can understand the theories of mentapaths we can over come our fear of death and many other fears that rule and control our lives and can make a better world and better mentapaths. We will make god and he will be us. The god that we can make is a god that has all the best traits of any that people have believed in plus he will have knowledge and wisdom a trait that none of them have possessed except in name before. Gods that men have created have only been as wise and smart as the men making them up and only as real as one can stretch ones imagination. This does not mean that people are bad or good in making up such beliefs these beliefs are part of mans needs and nature. But not all men have these needs and many of these needs can be supplied with new ideas than are better and lead to better things. Understanding of our selves and our environment are our greatest needs with out that we can not take care of our selves A religion that is based on science that supplies the need of people is needed. The religion needs to be critical and yet open minded things that are hard to have for most people. the god have had before
religion promises things to people an after life of pleasure and happiness and punishment for going against it. religions have a way of producing mentapaths that have a hard time being open minded but this is also a trait of people in general. A religion based on science can also make promises and can give people goals to work toward but the mentapaths that have little use to the pursuit of knowledge will not be as valuable a commodity as the ones that do but which one are valuable for ones producing knowledge or the one that are studied. Ultimately there will be an ultimate map of possible mentapaths, and their corresponding physipaths. How well we can learn to control matter and the effects that it has on the world and on mentapaths, will tell as to how much a direct control we will have of mentapaths. We can not predict what effect changes to matter will have on mentapaths but we can make some predictions for instance if a certain part of the brain is destroyed we can make predictions about what will result. But, will we ever be able to directly control a mentapath from with in. We control it from with out, by changing the environment or producing different types of experiences for it. But what if

Scientific epistemology is the science that studies systems of knowledge .The term epistemology is enough for the science but there is an area of philosophy that is called epistemology. Scientific epistemology is different from philosophical epistemology. Philosophical epistemology is the philosophical study of how we come to have knowledge. Scientific epistemology is the study of knowledge scientifically. Philosophical Epistemology can not tell us what knowledge is. the reason for this is we can not know anything for certain until we know every thing this is because the last thing we learn may be the most important and change every thing else that we thought we knew. For instance, What if we finally find that we reality that we thought we knew we find out is not reality at all but a creation of imagination. This might mean that every thing that we have learned is not true at all except in the realm of the imaginary world that we thought we existed in. We may find that we know that we exist in the imaginary world but can not find a way out of it.
There exists many questions that we don't have answers for. One being why are things the way they are rather than another way. why is the speed of light what it is and why are there atoms Many of the answers that we find depend on other thing that again depend on other things but finally like an mathematical axiomatical system thing are based on other things that could be different. The constants in science such as the speed of light could be different. we may find out why the speed of light is what it is but the reason will be based on other assumptions that could be different. There is the old saying that any thing is possible. But most things are not highly probable. This is because there are an infinite amount of this that could be. and they all cannot be at the same time and place. because that would eliminate the possibility of the of the other possibilities. this is a paradox. But then who's to say that our universe is logical. We may in fact find that the universe that we live in does not have the ability to have in it creatures that understand itself. So what is scientific epistemology It is the science that tries to study ever possibility and simplify the information that is gathered with the result of making new knowledge or a new arrangement of the old. We use knowledge to simply and represent knowledge. but since we cannot be certain of knowledge what have we left? If we cant represent knowledge by knowledge what can we represent knowledge buy? What we have is systems that serve a function such as to simply or predict the out come Mathematics is such a system so is logic In fact there are many areas of science that predict outcomes of its theory and some times it is successful is predicting what will happen in reality our at least what we think is reality.
When we talk about making new knowledge we are talking about making a process that's outcome can be tied to some prediction or process in reality. Or is useful in some other way. How many possible ways or processes are there? there are an infinite amount. the proof of this is a mathematical proof. One process can produce and infinite amount of answers and one process can produce one answer. We have with mathematics a way of delineating and infinite amount of knowledge because there are an infinite amount of numbers an each number can be the answer to an infinite amount of questions( mathematical questions) For an example what is 1/1 and 2/2 and 3/3 ... the answer to each is 1 so one is the answer to an infinite amount of questions the same goes for every number. What is the square root of 2 times 1/1 or 2/2 again we have an infinite amount of questions that have one answer and this time it is a transcendental number that is infinite. Epistemology has the theocept that is a way of framing ideas. the theocept is a term that is made from combining two other terms these are theoretical and concept i.e., theocept. The theocept is real dimensional matrix where every point can contain a number of different representations of things first it can be blank. Then it can hold numbers, words, pictures, processes, other point names or go to like in computer science or any other representation of things. Each point can hold a theocept What we have then is a way of representing any thing including all the slight nuances of a thing. But this representation of a thing is a theocept. Needless to say a theocept can be very complicated thing. But it can be named with one name and it can be manipulated in equations with other theocepts. Every thing can be converted into a theocept. This includes other theocepts. One theocept can be converted into an infinite amount of other theocepts that are different but retain the required or important attributes for instance there are an infinite amount of ways to represent one number. Two can be represented by the numeral 2 or by a division such as 4/2 or an addition such as 1+1 There are an infinite amount of ways to represent 2 in the same way there are an infinite amount of ways to represent equal theocepts. Mathematics spends a great deal of time and effort to reduce complex representations of number into their simplest form. And in finding simplifying processes to do it. Mathematical epistemology does the same. There is not one set of rules or axioms that work best with theocepts. because any time that we accept only set of rule we limit ourselves to processes the are more difficult to solve. But when we allow more and more rules or axioms and syntactic rules we are making the science more and more difficult. A real dimensional theocept is one when there are at least a real number of dimensions. generally a mathematical graph on paper is two dimensional with the x and y axis. The world has three dimensions and time is some time considered a forth.
The simplest theocept is the null theocept. it doesn't have a name. Then comes the theocepts that only have names but no body or other information. there are an infinite amount of names and all names are theocepts. then there are numbers they have a name and there name has implicit meaning even if we do not know what that meaning is. There is another category of theocepts that is theeoceptd that have name and have the meaning spelled out in its self. every definition is not complete because every thing can be related to every thing else so that a complete definition of any thing is going to be infinite How some thing relates to something else may be how its theocept is different from the other theocept. A theocept has to have an internal structure that can hold any part or all of knowledge. and yet be represented by one symbol. The term epism is the name for the ultimate theocept the one that holds all knowledge. Its correspondence, in math is infinity however in mathematics there are more than one infinite in fact there are an infinite amount of infinities each infinitely larger than the other. I have no doubt that the same process would work for Episms also. And since episms are so much more complicated than numbers there would be an epism of episms and this is not used as an amount but as complexity. Epistemology deals with complexity, studies and tries to simplify it. Some things can not be simplified. but there are many possible ways of doing many things. The first simplification that epistemology makes is one symbol name for each theocept. unfortunately there are many more theocepts that there are symbols. So many theocepts have to have names that are large and that are stored with in the theocept. The name of a theocept is stored in the position of a theocept 0.on a two dimensional graph it would be the point (0,0) but we are dealing with an infinite dimensional graph. So the point is 0 for all dimensions or as (0,0,...) This point is the easiest to reach or define and the name of a theocept is the most important part of the theocept for utility purposes. There are many other parts of a theocepts such as the descriptive parts that tell what in it haw large that it is. where different information is found in it. Epistemology is the ultimate science of both open mindedness and criticalness. It deals with all possibilities but it does not accept any theory as the absolute last word for knowledge.Knowledge and the world that it represents is way to complex for that. What it can do is put probabilities on certain and state the reason for those probabilities it can also state that people believe some theory as if it we absolutely true. And in many different versions because in every ares of ideas there are going to be truths that are accepted as absolute such in math or in logic. What makes Epistemology so strange is that it does not have to deal with the real world at all to produce information that is useful. We can make up an imaginary worlds and the we can talk about that world and can have knowledge of that world. Like a soap opera, it is not real but we can talk about it and be correct or incorrect about it as if it were real. What we do is qualify it. such as on the soap opera "life is tuff" Joe's a jerk! can be a true statement but we have put on it assumptions. The problem is that there are many qualification that need to be placed on anything it is the hidden assumptions that allow us to communicate among ourselves.
There are two important concepts that we can think about: one is that idea that awarepaths can be based and produced in a system that is not tied to reality. The second is that computing circuits can be in any area of space. And since most space is very cold they can be running on very little energy because of the super conductor effect. The universe can ultimately become an ultimate computing brain or consciousness producing all number of different awarepaths and super awarepaths.
It may be possible that superconductor awarepaducers can run on the light from distance stars and galaxies.
It is possible that these systems are self replicable. they can have exterior processing that supports themselves and then the interior awarepaths.
It would seem that a universe thus set up would be able to produce many more awarepaths within the system than a universe that is based solely on reality to produce the senpath for the awarepaducers. If this is the case any particular awarepath is more likely to be produced within the non reality based awarepaducer than within reality emersed awarepaducers. So that right now we are more likely to be within an awarepaducer that is not reality based than we are to actually be in the reality that we think we are.
Lets make the distinction between the awarepath that’s senpath is produced directly by reality and the awarepath that senpath is produced within the awarepaducer. One is a realsenpath and then there is the ducersenpath created within the awarepaducer. Which is more desirable? If the awarepaths are exactly the same the difference is in what the two accomplish. or their negative results. They can have a positive or negative effect on the world, reality, or even the reality within the awarepaducer.
How do we judge something? For instance how do we judge the best foot ball team? There is so much variability in things that we can not really say what the best is sometimes. In fact, we can have many different bests for a particular concept and each concept can be ever increasingly difficult to sort out. A specific question is: What is the best football team? The answer to this is usually given as the team that wins the most games. But what if the teams have the same number of wins? Then the quality of the teams that was played is looked at. But what determines the quality of the teams that are played the amount of games that they have won. There are other factors that we can consider that is not dealing with the teams and their win - lose record. For instance a team over a period of time will have better or worse days because of all sorts of factors like the team members having the flu or having been injured. There are a number of factors that will go in to how well a team plays each week. A team at its peek may be better than any other team and would win any other team at their peak. But maybe this team is seldom at its peak especially during its games. Then there is the team that is not very good but it is at its peak every time it plays. So this team may be lucky but not the best team. However, it will have the best record and thus it will be considered the best team. The factors can become more and more complicated. One reason that we need Mathematical epistemology to help us think and keep track of all the possibilities. Of course mathematical epistemology will have to be integrated within the computer so to be even more useful. How do we integrate mathematical epistemology into the computer? First there are many ways that we can integrate different areas of mathematical epistemology into a computer program. We can have a reminder program or a exact processing program. The difference between a reminder program and a processing program is that the reminder program is using names and visual change to elicit thought in a person. Where as a exact processing program will produce exact output that can be directly plugged into the problem. Visual diagrams is of the first type and numerical output is of the second type. There are many types in between that we use all the time to give us clues that help us get a job done. The computers can process many types of information and will be able to process more in the future as it uses neural networks like the brain does.
