How is it that we have individuality in consciousness?
How is it that a pain is individualized to a person. A pain is individualized to an awarepath because it is individualized to a physipath. A pain can effect the physipath in many different ways. Its effect will depend on the structure of the brain and how this structure effects the functioning the same pain will be different to different physipath this is how we get the individuality of experience.
Unity of the physipath the study of fidentireplicas deals with the unity of physipaths
As we change the structure of the physipath how do we change the mentapath and awarepath
the same simisenpath will create unique interpretations and experiences with in a different physipath
Imagine the experiment where we split the brain and put the two parts a distance away from each other they communicate with each other and generate in each other the same functioning as if together. The question is what is the awarepath and the mentapath produced and why? Does the split brain with the same functioning produce the same consciousness as the non split brain ? Where is this consciousness produced in the two halves or in both halves that overlap In terms of awarepaths and physipaths what does this mean? Do the two halves produce more than a half of an awarepath Do the two come together into one physipath
If we get ride of one half the half that is not connected to the body what will be the consciousness produced in the one side that is still functioning the same way. To get it to function the same way there can be many different ways. One is on the spot with knowledge no calculations as would be performed in the original half. There could be all sorts of pre knowledge and calculations. We can also consider stimulation algorithms this means how this information gets connected to the primary half. Once we set up this system we could set up the same situation in the other half where neither are communicating they can also be out of sync in time Once that we replace each side with the way to stimulate the other we now remove both halves. If this replacement actually replaced the other half consciousness why would they need the other half would the two halves have to communicate to make the consciousness. Or is pretending enough. What happens when they are in the same place. If there is a consciousness generated in this situation where is it generated. We will have an isomorphic system each artificial system side will be replacing what the other side does for the other side. Is the consciousness still produced by the functioning that is left is it in the knowledge that is used to produced the functioning?
