This lecture is about abstract
This lecture deals with the identireplica theory of consciousness and its application to survival of death and immortality. The identireplica theory of consciousness supports many types of immortality and survival of death. The Identireplica theory is based on two basic concepts 1. Consciousness is produced by the functioning of the nervous system. 2. Identical structures and functioning of bodies produce identical consciousness.
3. The correct consciousness being produced is the necessary ingredient for survival, survival of death, and immortality for an individual. 4. There are many different versions of a person’s consciousness that can apply to a person for survival, survival of death, and immortality.
The potential of the correct consciousness being produced in the future is necessary for immortality for an individual
Science appears to support this theory. If it is true it could have major effects on mankind.

The identireplica theory of consciousness is based on two basic principles 1. Consciousness is produced by the functioning of the nervous system. 2. Identical structures and functioning of bodies produce identical consciousness.
3. If the nervous system functions differently enough it will vary in the consciousness it produces.
4. The functioning of your nervous system could have been different if the external factors effecting it were different.
5. Depending on external factors effecting the nervous system, presently there are many different ways that the nervous system can function.
6. The correct consciousness being produced is the necessary factor for survival of death and immortality.
7. Survival of death and immortality are not the same thing. You can be immortal with out ever being able to survive death. And you can survive death with out being immortal.
8. We will concentrate on survival of death rather than immortality because in theory science could keep a person alive for ever with out him ever dying.
9. To survive death you have to over come the problem that you will be a different person than the one that died.
10. The key concept of your existence and survival, over time, is that you experience something.
11. There is a difference between currently experiencing something, actually having experienced something in the past, having the potential to experiencing something in the future, and never being able to experience something ever again.
12. The personal understanding of the concept of you experiencing something is an internally understood concept.
13. When you are not conscious you are not aware of time passing.
14. When there is not the correct functioning in the nervous system, as there is (in a long enough period) after death, there is no consciousness produced

The identireplica theory of consciousness is the simplest physical theory that supports survival of death and can be studied scientifically.
Religious or dualistic theories of survival of death or immortality are based on non physical concepts. As a result can not be studied scientifically because they are not based on physical principles.
