What is consciousness?

It is a way of organizing ongoing physical processing in the brain. When a certain physical processing is achieved a conscious concept is developed. Though this concept may seem to be simple and only involve a few neurons it is interconnected to the whole brain.

With six layers of processing in the neocortex do we have six layer interconnected neural net processing? What would happen with more layers would we get more complex concepts in consciousness?

With each level of processing we have a grouping of neural behavior. The next level analyzes the previous level. For the next level the previous level is a input or a senpath or concept. This is not just a concept alone it is the way to deal with this concept so not only does the concept get created but a lot of peripheral information as well. This peripheral information defines this concept

Possibly the concepts in this seventh level would be more complex than the sixth level because the seventh level would be doing a calculation on the information in the 6th level. So it would be concepts about the 6th level.
