THE IDENTITY THEORY OF CONSCIOUSNESS IN ONE PAGE
The identity theory of consciousness is a theory about consciousness and the mind. The theory is founded on the hypothesis that an identically functioning replica (cidentireplica) of a live conscious person (called the original), will be a live conscious person and will have the exact same mind or consciousness as the original. This hypothesis is based on our current scientific knowledge of how the brain and body works, and how the mind -- consciousness awareness, feelings, emotions, memories, etc. is produced by the brain and body. There are three important terms that this theory defines. The first term is the physical path or physipath it is the sequence of all of the physical changes that the body goes through in a period of time. The second term is the mental path or mentapath. It is the path that the mind takes over time and its changes. A person's mentapath is the defining representation for all mental aspects that is and happen to a person including the unconscious mental functionings. The third term is the path of awareness or awarepath. The awarepath is the part of a persons mentality that he is conscious or aware of. Each person has a physipath, mentapath and awarepath that corresponds to the changes in his body, mind, and consciousness through out his life. When we refer to all three types of paths we call them Itopaths. Other forms of life also have corresponding itopaths. The awarepath, mentapath, and physipath can be defined mathematically as precisely as desired using the theocept. A theocept that defines a physipath, mentapath or awarepath is a physicept, mentacept or awarecept respectively. And a theocept that defines a itopath is a itocept. Physicepts, mentacepts, awarepaths, and itocepts can be mathematically manipulated in any number of ways. Awarecepts, mentacepts, physicepts, and itocepts can be produced that can uniquely represent any person that exists, has existed, or will exist. It can also represent any being that does or can exist in the universe. The science that deals with theocepts and all of their mathematics is Mathematical Epistemology. The sciences that deals with awarepaths, mentapaths, physipaths, and itopaths are Awarepathology, Mentapathology, Physipathology and Itopathology respectively. One or more different physipaths can produce one mentapath, and one or more different mentapaths can produce one awarepath. This hypothesis is called the Reduction Theory of Consciousness. A physifield is a grouping of physipaths. A mentafield is a grouping of mentapaths. And an awarefield is a grouping awarepaths. The Continuum Hypothesis of Consciousness states that there exists awarefields, mentafields and physifields that form continuums they are called awaretinuum, mentatinuum, physitinuum and sometimes these awarefields, mentafields and physifields can be overlapped and mapped for the entire fields into a one to one corresponding itofields and itotinuums. The mentafield that represents all human consciousness is a humentafield. Where the humentafeild is continuous either functionally atomic or numerically real it forms a humentatinuum. There also is the corresponding huphysifield, huphysitinuum, huawarefield, huawaretinuum, huitofield, and huitotinuum. The identity theory generates a complex theory of immortality. It is called itoimmortality. Itoimmortality contains the concept of the immortality of the path or itopath immortality. Simi immortality where parts of different itopaths are shares. Point or section immortality where a point or section of itopaths are immortal, conceptual immortality, memory immortality, developmental immortality One aspect of developmental immortality is the principle of superpath. What this means is that any person could have slight improvements to their mental functioning and still be considered the same person by his own definition or by others. If a person is blind and has an operation and can then see we still consider that person as the same person but he has had a change in his awarepath. This is a change for one person to what most people already have. But we can extent this idea to any conceivable new or enhanced sense of other mental aspect. For instance we can imagine ourselves being more intelligent or with a better memory or an extra sense like a bat sense of sonar. There are a number of change we can make to ourselves so that we are super or better than we were before. The itopaths that these improvements make are called superpaths, superitopaths, superawarepaths supermentapaths and superphysifield. When we combine the concept of superpaths with the concept itoimmortality, we have a complex theory about the potential of mankind and each individual person.
Some objective results, if the identity theory is correct, It is possible that there exists any number of possible identical awarepaths through out the universe and through out time. The result of the Reduction Theory and Continuum Hypothesis is that there can exist physipaths that produce mentapaths that are different in any amount of any mental aspects from any other mentapaths.
Some subjective results, there can be in the universe through out time any number of other people (physipaths) that have the same identical or only slightly different to many degrees of different consciousnesses (awarepaths). Memory is based on the functioning of the brain not what the brain has done or been, this is called the Memory Paradox. This means that it would be possible that a person can be created that has never existed before with in tact memories, that in fact have never been experienced by anyone before. People can also have memories that they have never experienced in reality. Immortality is thus possible based on what science knows about nature. Immortality of any particular awarepath is by no means guaranteed. There are however, many other types of immortality possible like memory immortality, experience immortality, feeling immortality. Any type of mentality in any part can be a type of immortality. As such other people that exist or have existed may have had the same partial immortality as you have. This means that even though you are not exactly the same as another person you may have some mental aspects that are the same at some times.
How does the identity theory apply to people in one page?
