Other theories of immortality and consciousness

Comparison of other theories to superimmortality's predictions

Comparison to the predictions of other Hypothesis

There are versions of each hypothesis

If the predictions of a hypothesis are too simple then explanatory value can be reduced as well

The assumption is that a body that does not produce the ixperiencitness of the original at a specific physamoment, physasection or the whole physapath

The ixperiencitness concept is a new concept that has not been applied to these hypothesis.

Simple Hypothesis comparison: same body hypothesis, same psychology hypothesis. Same Soul /supernatural hypothesis Combination hypothesis: is that the self or same person is defined by the same body and psychology. Combination supernatural hypothesis is that the self or same person is defined as the same body, psychology, and soul.

Body hypothesis: You are your body. Body continuity: There has to be body continuity for you to continue to consciously exist. if body continuity is broken you no longer consciously exist. How is body continuity broken? How much difference in the body from moment to moment is allowed before continuity is broken? Example Same body very different structure and functioning: same body same person body hypothesis, superimmortality: same body, different ixperiencitness.

Psychology hypothesis: You are your psychology or unique mental attributes. Psychology continuity: There has to be psychological continuity for you to continue to consciously exist. If psychological continuity is broken you are no longer in existence. How is psychological continuity broken? How much difference in the psychology from moment to moment is allowed before psychological continuity is broken? Example: Psychology hypothesis: Same body same structure and functioning no psychological continuousness: Not the same person. superimmortality: same body same structure and functioning no psychological continuousness same ixperiencitness.

Soul /supernatural hypothesis: You are something beyond the physical and not tied to a specific body or psychological characteristics. Example soul hypothesis Same body same structure and functioning different or no soul different person: superimmortality: same body same structure and functioning no soul or different soul, same ixperiencitness.

Body hypothesis: if it is the same body then you experience what ever consciousness and ixperiencitness is produced. There is a problem with all of the very different consciousnesses that the body can produce over time when the structure and functioning changes.

Strong predictions for the body hypothesis Your body, when conscious, will always produce a consciousness that you experience. A different body will never produce a consciousness that you experience.

Modified prediction for the body hypothesis Your body, when conscious, will sometimes produce a consciousness that you experience. A different body will never produce a consciousness that you experience.

Modified prediction for the body hypothesis with help Your body, when conscious, and is producing one of the right structures and functionings will always produce a consciousness that you experience. A different body will, may produce a consciousness that you experience.

Psychology hypothesis: You are your psychology or unique mental attributes. There are specific psychology characteristics that are tied to only you. Only one body can produce these psychology characteristics at a time.

Soul /supernatural hypothesis: You are something beyond the physical, thus supernatural, and consequently not necessarily tied to a specific body or to specific psychological characteristics. This supernatural entity will be called the soul in this discussion. The same body and psychology without the soul is not you. You will not experience the consciousness it produces if the soul is not connected to the body in the right ways. The same psychological characteristics without the soul is not you. You will not experience the consciousness produced by any body producing these psychological characteristics without the soul properly connected to this psychological characteristics producing body. The same physapath without the soul is not you.

There is no scientific evidence of souls existing. Your personality and behavior is recreated by producing nearly identical structure and functioning. There is no physical understanding how the self is tied to one body over time if not for structure and functioning because by changing the structure and functioning of the body other peoples personality, behavior, and apparent consciousness is produced.

One version of the body theory is that every consciousness produced by the same body will have the same ixperiencitness. Modified body theory: same body with the right physapath will produce the same ixperiencitness, consequence of this modification is a decreasing of the importance of the body.

One version of the soul theory is that without the same soul the same body will not produce the same ixperiencitness. One version of the soul theory is that the same body with the same soul no matter what the structure and functioning is produced the same ixperiencitness Without the same soul the same body will not produce the same ixperiencitness Modified soul theory same body with the same soul with the right physapath will produce the same ixperiencitness, consequence decreases the importance of the soul and body

One version of the mind theory is that without the same mind the same body will not produce the same ixperiencitness. The mind being the psychological aspects of a person like his memories, personality, behavior, skills, knowledge, etc.,

Mind hypothesis based on dualism there is a mind substance Problems with the mind hypothesis is how to determine anything about the mind substance independent of the physical body or the psychology produced by the body
