There are many ways to look at personal identity the easiest way is that of a body that is continuous over time made up of matter that does not change too rapidly and that covers a continuous line of space and time. By the definition of personal identity a person is a body so this definition should be valid
However this does not cover what we experience at all. It does not matter if you are experiencing anything at all. But conscious experience is the key to what we want in personal identity.
Why if the definition of personal identity important?
One aspect of personal identity is that it is supposed that once personal identity is established then concepts of survival of death or immortality can be answered. Does personal identity guarantee survival? Or do we have to have personal identity for survival or immortality? The identireplica theory does not require personal identity for survival of death or immortality nor does it require identity of consciousness or behavior. It only requires that the I of the original experiences this different person in question consciousness.
All the concepts of personal identity
We can not limit cases of survival for the original on some random theory of personal identity. Personal identity does not give us a way to determine if some one has survived death or has immortality
personal identity does not define cases of survival for a person or a continuation of his consciousness.
