Introduction of the argument
There was a potential for you to consciously exist before you did consciously exist. Many people believe that once you die you will never consciously exist again. This means that there is no more potential for you to consciously exist ever again. Before you consciously existed there was the potential for you to consciously exist
But after your death if you can not ever again consciously exist then the potential of you consciously existing again is not possible either. At death you not only loose any chance of actual conscious existence you loose all potential chance of you consciously existing again. The question is why and how scientifically do you loose this potential chance of consciously existing again?
There may be many different ways for you to consciously exist.
But if we consider the process that did produce a conscious that you experience that we know of there had to be a body that produced you and before there has to be the specific organs cells molecules atoms stars universe. So there has to be the potential for the universe to exist before it did exist. There had to be the potential for stars to exist before they did exist so that when they actually existed the many different elements could be created that are needed for the proper functioning of human body. Then there had to be the potential for an earth like planet that existed for billions of years for the development of human life.
Does there always have to have a potential for something to exist before it does? Potential for things to exit can disappear for example it is possible that the universe might never be able to exist again no matter what other conditions change. But the potential for humans to exist still exist even if the potential for future univers does not. Just because the potential for some a needed step in the production of human consciousness no longer exists does not eliminate other potential possibilities.

This is an argument against the position that death is the permanent end to conscious existence for a person.
Before you consciously existed there was the potential for you to consciously exist. Why after your death is there no potential for your conscious existence again? What happened to reality to make it impossible for you to consciously exist again?
What makes the actualization of the potential conscious self (the body) make the potential of a future conscious self (body) no longer exist? It is believed that you are a creation of a unique set of circumstances and experiences It is assumed that your experiences are unique in space and time in relationship to your body thus not repeatable for you or any other conscious being. Thus your conscious self is unique and thus not repeatable --- your potential to consciously exist again is gone.
Possible hypothesis: for why the potential for conscious existence ends at death. Stated in another way “Why is conscious death permanent?”
This belief is usually tied to the idea that you are uniquely connected to your body. Your body is a unique creation that can ony be created once is the assumption. But why? What other physical thing has this property? If your consciousness is based on the structure and functioning of matter, then since structure and functioning is duplicatable, your consciousness is duplicatable also. For your consciousness to be unduplicatable there has to be some aspect of your consciousness that is not duplicatable. What is the non duplicatable aspect of your self?
In a supernatural reality things can permanently puff in and out of existence. But in a materialist only reality matter keeps rearranging itself over time.
Stated in a different way a physapath before it existed was going to produce a specific awarepath and ixpepath But once it was produced it will no longer produce this awarepath and ixpepath. Why? There is the question what happens when the same physapath is produce again is there a specific different awarepath and ixpepath produced again. How different can they be when the behaviorpaths are exactly the same
If a physapath is produced over and over again and there is a different awarepath and ixpepath produced each time is there a specific sequence of awarepath and ixpepaths produced. Each repetition of an identical physapath can not produce any of the past produced awarepaths or ixpepaths. What is the controlling factor in determining the new different awarepaths and ixpepaths produced each time
