There are many different religious and unscientific theories of immortality. This theory is not a religious. It is based on scientific principles and facts about what we know of the body the brain and the necessary ingredients for survival. What this theory is not based on is souls, gods, reincarnation, ghosts, after lives, karma, nirvana, heaven or hell.

The first concept that the identireplica theory is based on is that the body specifically the brain produces through its functioning consciousness. A body that does not function in the right way does not produce consciousness A brain that does not change over time does not produce consciousness.

The correct consciousness being produced presently is the key to if you are surviving presently or not. This consciousness has to have the property that you are experiencing it or at least part of it.

For you to have survived in the past a consciousness must have existed in the past where you experienced it. Since consciousness is tied to the functioning of a brain for you to have existed in the past a body must have existed that produced a consciousness that you experienced. The same goes for the future.

There is a difference between what is actually being produced in terms of consciousness at this minute by the body and what potential consciousness was produced in the past, or will be produced in the future.

Identically functioning bodies with identical structure will produce the same behavior They will appear to have the same consciousnesses They will contain the same knowledge skills

The concept of consciousness can be understood scientifically this means that it can be differentiated we can see how it change over time we have to explain and extrapolate and predict. A scientific theory about consciousness has to be coherent testable understandable.

A consciousness can be characterized defined scientifically. This means that what is happening to you at this moment can be described in technological terms so that differences and similarities can be seen

The body and brain although very complex functions in scientifically understandable ways.

Numerous external things can influence how the brain and body functions Many external things can change the structure of the body and brain

The brain and body can continue to function with out external modification The brain and body will change with out external modification

If the body repeats exactly a specific functioning with identical structure it will repeat the same consciousness. There is proof of this from tendency where when the brain functions in certain areas it will produce a consciousness more like

The brain can be structured in many different ways A brain can function in many different ways External sources are a cause for many of the different ways the brain can function.

Rebuilding the body seems to rebuild the ixperiencit of the original.

Explain potential versus actual the potential versus actual argument there are all sorts of potential functioning at any time

move to first chapter

Survival is not dependent on the same person, survival is dependent on the correct consciousness. A body can be preserved for ever with out any consciousness being produced this is not a case of survival for the individual but any consciousness where the original experiences it. A frozen body is not a case of survival unless that body eventually produces a consciousness that you experience. The terms/ concept you experiencing the consciousness can be an undefined term in the sense that you know what it is like to be experiencing the consciousness that you have known or are experiencing you also have an idea what many version of your consciousness it would be like to experience you are experiencing a consciousness

You are actually experiencing a sensepath. The you in you experience changes as the structure of the brain changes enough. The question how much can we modify the structure or functioning of the brain before you no longer experience the consciousness and some one else does. Little bits of your consciousness are or may be in everyone. Others may have exactly the same feeling as you it could have a different effect on the consciousness and behavior.
