Consciousness is an emergent property produced by the structure and functioning of the body over a period of time. The concept of emergent properties is very important in understanding consciousness. The natural world is full of examples of emergent properties coming out of simpler or different natural properties. An example of a sequence of emergent properties of matter: Protons, electrons, neutrons, used in the production of atoms. Atoms used in the production of molecules. Molecules used in the production of cells. Cells used in the production of various types of nerve cells, Combination of different types of nerve cells in different shapes and patterns used in the production of nervous systems. Nervous systems used in the production of brains. The functioning of brains used in the production of consciousness. The tv, in order to produce a tv show, needs a number of emergent properties built through a combination of other more basic physical properties. In order for a tv to work properly to produce a tv show there need for the properties of electricity and how it related to different types of matter. Both televisions and human bodies are made of matter. Movies or TV shows and consciousnesses are not made of matter, they are emergent properties created through the specific structures and functionings of matter. If one TV produced part of a TV show another tv can not produce this part of the show again it would have to start at the part that the first stopped at.

There could never be an extension to a movie in another TV set as there can never be an extension of a person's life in a different person's body.

There will be less and less potential shows that can become actual as time goes on. If there can never be a repeat of a person life then there will be less and less possible humans lives in the future

This is because they can not be found to exist in any way that allows them to be scientifically studied.

An emergent property does not have to be identical to the process that created it. Consciousness does not have to be identical to the structure and functioning of the brain that produced it.  Consciousness is not identical to the structure and functioning of the brain that produced it. The fact that consciousness and the brain that produced it are not identical does not then mean that there is or has to be a mind substance or soul that exists separately from the body or more specifically separately for the structure and functioning produced by the brain.

Two different bodies can not be identical because they are made of different matter, the same matter in different places or with in chemical structures. However, it is not impossible for them to be identical or nearly identical in structure and functioning over a period of time. Is structure and functioning a property of matter of an object of matter? The structure and functioning of matter over a period of time is a property of matter not matter itself. If what produces consciousness is a property of matter then consciousness is a property of matter itself and not an object that is tied to space time and specific matter.

Things can produce properties that change that other things can also have. For example, there can be identify of red with out the two red objects being identical objects. Imagine if different objects could not have or produce identical properties. How different whould they have to be. Properties of objects can be identical or nearly identical without the objects being in the same place time or made of the same matter.

The properties of a body or object are the place and time, that it exist in, and matter, it is made of, A property of an object can have itself as a property or not.
