Viewing consciousness directly

When we open up the skull of a live person there is no viewing of the brain producing consciousness.

Maybe the functioning of the brain is the tree. Maybe the brain does not see reality but a reality that consciousness can see. What consciousness for most people is a construct that helps them survive. If they actually saw reality for what it is it might be impossible to survive The brain processes the information from the eyes. That itself has been processed by the eye to signal the brain in ways the brain can process

Experiment: Imagine the situation where something is connected to the brain, it can be an electronic brain, where the original consciousness producing part of the body is connected to another consciousness producing part where, when there is the connection there is this new experience that was not there to begin with and when this new area is disconnected this conscious addition is then gone, is this evidence of the functioning of matter producing consciousness?

Lets say that the brain can be grouped into parts that can be turned on and off. If when some of these parts are disconnected from the rest of the brain there is a specific lose of consciousness, then is this an example of experiencing the brain producing consciousness?
