Supernatural belief systems
A supernatural belief system is a belief system that uses ideas and objects that either do not exist or can not or are not studied scientifically. Supernatural belief systems do not give consistently valid predictions of future events. People accept and believe in these belief systems for many different reasons. Brainwashing from a young age is often a reason. Social acceptance is another reason. Often people believe in supernatural belief systems because they promise life after death, with loved ones, in a wonderful, worry free, place. Most people do not have the time or inclination to understand that supernatural belief systems are incoherent, illogical, not supported by the evidence and are not predictive for reality. Supernatural belief systems can seem to be logical and predictive but because reality and belief systems are so complex it takes a large community of non biased investigators to distinguish supernatural theories from reality --- science.
