The universe's desire to experience itself

How can a universe that is not conscious have a desire to experience itself? The universe does contain conscious beings that do have desires and some of these desires are to continue to be conscious; not to die. A second desire to to experience new and different things. A third desire is to produce other conscious beings as in children, conscious animals or conscious computers. A fourth desire is to experience better or more enjoyable things or experiences. A fifth desire is to understand this universe. A Sixth desire is to have purpose and meaning for ourselves which means to have purpose and meaning for our consciousness.

The universe seems to lack conscious beings. As far as we know only a relatively few conscious beings exist on only part of the surface of one planet. The universe that we know about is extremely large and long lasting. There is endless amounts of energy produced by the stars, endless amounts of matter that could be used to produce consciousnesses, unlimited amounts of space. Endless amounts of ways that matter can be arranged or structured and then function. Thus producing endless numbers of different consciousness that can perceive the universe in all possible ways. And not only that the universe can create creative consciousness that are very different from the consciousness that can only reflect reality.
