John Hick's Replica theory
John Hicks theory ties Christianity to a replica theory. According to Hicks your replica shows up in heaven made by god. There is no soul just the body that is important. There can be, and is only one replica for each person in this theory. This has to be, according to Hicks, because of the need to maintain human individuality. The theory is short on any substance based on science.
He does not give good reasons why we cannot have more exact replicas of a person. He does not deal with the importance of identical structure and functioning within the replica, nor the concept of identical consciousness.
This theory requires a unique place for the replicas to exist in such as a heaven or hell.
There is no mention of the necessity of actually experiencing a consciousness for it to be a continuation of yourself.
