An insidentireplica - an instantaneously formed identical replica - is a body that comes into existence with your structure but with no causal connection to you. It was not grown from your cells or copied from your brain; it simply appeared with the right structure already in place. The most famous version of this is a thought experiment in which a body is assembled atom by atom to match yours exactly.

The ins- prefix captures a key feature: there is no causal continuity between you and this replica. It matters for the theory because it shows that causal history is not required for ixperiencitness (the quality that makes your conscious experience yours). Structure alone is sufficient.

What this means

A body that appears from nowhere with your structure produces your consciousness - causal history is not required for identity.
